Khatami sure is starting to sound and look like Musharraf of Pakistan. Maybe this is the new planned model for extremist states, to have a "moderate" puppet to speak with the civilized world while the military and mullahs run the show and advance their cause.

It sounds like the President got their attention in the State of the Union address. Pakistan didn't act until they had no other choice - Iran may be seeing the writing on the wall. The 'man on the street' in the region, IMHO, probably is not aware of the consequences and thus will be hard to change ... sigh. But they have to start somewhere, or else.
