HEY, GANG. COME AND JOIN IN ON THE TEACHER CHATBOARD. THE LINK IS ABOVE. THEY NEED TO KNOW THEIR RIGHTS AND SHOULD BE DEMANDING MONEY BACK FOR THOSE DUES BEING USED FOR POLITICAL PURPOSES (FOR THE RATS) WITHOUT PERMISSION.
Post: dues being used for political purposes
Posted by Doug on 2/04/02
A friend of mine was tired of her dues being used for political purposes with which she disagreed. She demanded an accounting and a refund. She just got back almost $300. Most people are afraid to make waves.
In Washington, teachers are demanding an accounting of the money. It's okay to use the money with permission, but it would be nice if the Beck decision was followed. Not everyone agrees with the political positions of the NEA or CTA and it is outrageous that they spend money without permission.

Great work. That took guts. Why do I have to cut you slack? Did I jump on you for something? When I mentioned "naughty," I was kidding.

OK, OK ... I relish my role as a gadfly to the Union ... Hey Doug! I'm a card carrying member of the AFL/CIO ... Yippee! Skippee! &;-)

Please spread the word wherever you can. We want millions of teachers getting money back from the RAT union thugs.

I'm trying ... but it's like talking to brick walls ... for fear of their jobs, 99.9999% of teachers are too PC to ask for their dues back. "Don't rock the boat" philosophy prevails ... I'd like to get ALL of my dues back, BTW!

Thanks so much for the flag on this. We should have one of these chatboards in Florida, so more teachers could learn what is actually going on in this state! If they did, I bet you more teachers would vote for Gov. Bush.

I wish teachers would support Bush but I don't know. Headline from the Palm Beach Post this morning:
Teachers rally in Tally to protest cuts About 1,500 teachers bus to the state capital to vent against budget cuts and Gov. Jeb Bush.
Was yesterday a holiday? Were the schools closed? Or does the union contract stipulate time off for engaging in politics?
I also see the union has endorsed McBride for governor.

I think things have been shaken up a little bit on the board. Let's keep it up. Let me know if you find other teacher boards and we'll do it again.

Thanks for the flag. Check out #55. Another teacher board. Right now they're bashing home schoolers on it.

Appears the
California Federation of Teachers pulled all their posts from 2002 to delete a thread posted today advising teachers how to get their union dues back. Several said it would not be around long.

Let's see how long this lasts -----
Message Added: union dues used for political purposes
The following information was added to the Issues Forum:
Name: Doug
Subject: union dues used for political purposes
Body of Message:
A friend of mine recently got back a refund of almost $300 when she challenged the union for spending money on political purposes with which she disagreed. She is glad to pay for administrative costs and collective bargaining, but not for politics.
Anyone wanting information about how to get dues back, check out what has been done in the state of Washington. www.effwa.org They will be glad to give you information.
