We would get into a idea of quantum physics here if you want to talk about true random, since you could consider anything we observe not to be random anymore since we observed it.

Like you, I was trying to avoid the Heisenberg tar-baby.

Not only that, how can we reconcile the concepts of an Omnipotent Omnipresent Omniscient God and absolute randomness?

Look, I'm not denying the possibility (to some degree) of random sponateous mutagenic speciation... But I'm questioning the dogmatic adherence to its presumption.

I think I answered that in the other post. Random in appearance to us, not necessarily random to God.

This is an excellent thread!.....My mind boggles!

One question...You ,and many others posting here, didn't go to public school, did you?

A lottery number machine is engineered to supply as "random" a number as possible, but that doesn't imply that there is no absolutely no control over what is happening inside the tumbler.

As mere people, we have no control over the precise selection, but God's unbreakable rules of physics control everything inside that space, to provide a perfectly predictable outcome, at His level of measurement and perception.

The term "absolute randomness" seems to imply a selection with absolutely no controlling rules, but that would appear to be impossible, as long as we're in His Universe.
