The whole reason underlying in the Enron mess, Global, etc... is because of out tax code. Armies of auditors trying to hide revenues, shift losses, playing shell games in order to work around our tax code.

These people, as well as most of the trial lawyers, produce absolutely zero work product which can be quantified in our annual GDP. That fact alone proves how they are lowering everyone else's standard of living by their parasitic efforts to take money from people who get up and go to work to earn their income honestly.

Bullsh!t!..it's greed or poor business management plain and simple...Enron Avoided Income Taxes in 4 of 5 Years...So tell us what happened to all that tax money they didn't pay?...OH, I know, they lowered their prices, bought new, more efficient equipment, gave everybody a pay raise and hired more people.......< /sarcasm >

I believe the tax code has a lot to do with goofy accounting practices too. While it remains to be seen exactly what happened, it's dollars to donuts that taxes had a major impact on the "fudging" done by the accountants.
