Well, I would think that one would need to differentiate between different types of "food" and "medical service". Groceries, no tax, but restaraunt food gets taxed. In the same way with medicine, emergencies and serious medical care do not get taxed, but if you want some fake boobs . . .

Under the nrst, ALL necessities are untaxed... without getting into the mess of exempting indivudal items.

I'm just tired of some bureaucrat socialist sitting down trying to decide how to write a law that does tax plastic boobs but doesn't tax caviar, milk, or crackers. I'd rather they just say that EVERYTHING has this tax rate, and then we don't have government trying to decide what else they want to encourage or discourage through taxation.

With the FairTax, there is no reason and no need for exemptions. You could inform yourself a great deal by reading the HR2525 bill and some of the NRST websites.
