Yes, it is unclear if he simply is half educated on what conservatism is, or is a rather clever caricature of our movement.

If it is the latter, it shows more brains then I thought the DU types had. If it is the former, he shows some promise, if he is willing and able to continue his education. We shall see.

My dilemma with Darth is that I agree with him on several points. I agree that illegal and wanton immigration should be curtailed. I even agree that FDR may have had prior suspicion of Pearl Harbor. BUT where we have our disconnect is Darths view that we should not protect ourselves and our allies in the larger arena of the world. Isolationism IMHO cannot work in a world made smaller by todays technology. As I read history ... it was the isolationists that tried to prevent the USA from entering WW2. I believe that had we not entered the war at the time we did, it would have given the Axis powers time to develop certain WMD's that could have meant our quick and utter defeat when the war did finally come our way ... isolationist or not.
