Upon request, I have collected links to many of the earliest threads from September 11, 2001 below. I reviewed threads from the very first FR report (http://www.freeRepublic.com/focus/fr/520255/posts)through thread number 520326. Feel free to add other significant threads, including photo archives. Bumping this thread periodically instead of the original threads will also avoid scaring people with the headlines.

I've been reading through the threads here after being referred here when I was looking for someone who had a tape of FOX News coverage on 9-11-01 so I could show it to my kids when they're old enough to see it as it happened and get a feeling for what it was like that day since they won't get that in any school. I later found a company called "Track News". FOX News referred them for footage of their coverage that FOX News itself doesn't offer. Their number is (800)949-6397. Ask for Cindy. Great company. They will assemble whatever hours you want, whatever day you want, whatever news coverage you want, four hours per DVD, six hours per VHS. $25.00 per hour. That's a really good deal for archived news footage. Other places I found were $50 to $100 per hour, and most didn't even have 9-11-01 coverage for whatever stupid reason. Anyway, if anyone is like me and wants footage of live 9-11-01 coverage, give them a call. I prefer FOX News, but they have other networks, CNN, the networks, MSNBC and CNBC I imagine. Hope this helps someone. Pass it around to anyone you know that likes to have archives of important events. None is more important than 9-11. Let them know you saw them mentioned on a Free Republic thread.

Can't believe four years have passed. I still vividly recall Gingrich saying it was our 20th Century Pearl Harbor.
I can't believe four years have gone by either... In some ways it seems as if 9-11-01 was yesterday. These archived threads are priceless.
Like putting astringent on an open wound. I recall all too well my emotions that day. Stunned disbelief, horror, anger...we should never forget those emotions while we have breath in our bodies.
