What is really going on here? If they HAVE killed him it occurs to me that the intent never was to gain any of the demands. The demands were purposely made impossible because their real agenda is something other. Perhaps just to suck us in to further conflict in Pakistan. Perhaps to sow discord in Pakestan. Perhaps just to publish their own little group and cause in their local area.

How can they possibly misjudge us so much. How did they get the idea we would actually negotiate ?
To: cajungirl
For some reason I didn't think they would do it. They were told to not do it. But they didn't listen. Soon they are going to wonder why all hell is coming down on their heads.
To: cajungirl
They probably tortured him too like they did some of the other reporters. They are very cruel people and think nothing of dispensing some of the most cruel punishments that oone can think of. You can bet the men that were dragged through the streets in Somalia suffered. Beneath the Veil showed some bodies where they had skinned the people alive.

I hope the Wall Street Journal Editorial Boards offers a reward for the guys who killed their reporter. Payable only if the folks responsibile for the murder are DEAD.

From CNN's website:
Conflicting reports are emerging about the fate of kidnapped Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl. News organizations received an e-mail on Friday which claims Pearl has been killed. The source of that e-mail has not been independently confirmed. Meanwhile, there are reports from Karachi police that a group has demanded $2 million in ransom within the next 36 hours for Pearl's release.

Good idea. Need to email your thoughts to WSJ

Sounds like we have conflicting reports...one demanding money, one says he's dead.
May take awhile to sort this one out.

May God give comfort to the wife of this good man, to his family, to his friends and to his coworkers. I keep trying to say more, but I'm so angry with the stupid, evil, creepy, subhuman terrorist that everything comes out hateful. I'll work on it.

In either event, I assume that the life expectancies of these terrorist a-holes is extremely short.
To: RCW2001
The irony is he apparently died for a government he didn't like, if the reports about him are true.

Since you mentioned his wife...
I was amazed at her demeanor and attitude in tv interviews on Wednesday. Although the reporters introduced clips by calling them "impassioned pleas" to the kidnappers, her comments struck me as anything but passionate. It was more like she was "aloof" and uninvolved.
Did anybody else notice that?

You statements reminded me of an old Twilight episode where the aliens come to earth to be our friends and have us over for dinner.
It turned out earthlings were the main course.
To: RightWhale
So sad, if true. I expect that this is just the beginning of many more of these hostage situations that will demand the release of other terrorists. It will be worldwide. Keep your eyes open folks.
