Are you aware of how many airports(not including approaches) are within 5 miles of nuclear plants?!!!!! Lots of them. They tend to put all the things nobody wants in their back yard in the same areas.

They can give up on taking a commercial plane. Ain't gonna happen. Perhaps a poorly guarded cargo plane, or a smaller private plane. Maybe a 18 wheeler.Don't count too heavily on passengers and crew defending an airplane. There are other ways the terrorists could take control, such as putting everyone else to sleep or poison gas or something we haven't thought of yet. It's still scary out there.

A big threat still is airline transport pilots, say for Saudi Arabia airlines or EgyptAir. Who is going to stop a suicide dive by another EgyptAir pilot shouting Allah Ahkbar?

Well, I've got one in my backyard...30 mi NE, although there are no tall buildings...right in the middle of nothing but corn and soy fields.

They don't even have to follow through. TERROR HAS ALREADY STRICKEN via CNN and FreeRepublic.

Why would the government "leak" it as opposed to just releasing the info? Just based on this thread, I'm assuming that since it's not being announced by anybody but CNN, it's eiter false, or a "leak."
No idea who or why....

I agree. But in this case the "cargo" airport and MSP are one in the same.

The Pilots are in a cabin and they have a separate breathing system. I don't see any way to commandeer a commercial airline full of passengers again.

I guess it's just too bad for planes on approach to Harrisburg (PA) International Airport, eh?

Big difference between an Office building, which is not built to contain anything and a containment building. Those big towers are made of re-enforced concrete. It is doubtfull if it would even penetrate it. Even if it did, it would be a real longshot that it would penetrate the core. These things are designed to withstand a _lot_ of punishment.
Also, they are much harder to hit. The are very low, compared to the WTC. They would have to skim the trees. Much more difficult flying.
Finally, they would have to keep a plane full of passengers from killing them. That, probably would be the hardest part.
We should be careful, but I don't think this plan would work.
