Scary article, but reality. What really bugs me is that the liberals and no nukes bunch will use these threats as a reason to get rid of nuclear energy. Yes, it can be potentially dangerous. So can chemicals being dumped into our water supply, but no one wants to outlaw water.
Just wait: the no nukes crowd will come out in full force and demand we close down all nuclear reactors. And because the public doesn't understand nuclear energy, they will be scared into agreement.

I have relatives who work and live within a couple of miles of the CP&L nuclear plant in Southport. Any swarthy looking men attempting to case that joint would stick out like a sore thumb, and Brunswick County residents are quick to point out to people, "You ain't from around here, are ya?" And there are no tall buildings anywhere around, and the residents of Bald Head Island simply would not, would not stand for such rudeness! Southport is therefore not an A-list target.

Why would the government "leak" it as opposed to just releasing the info?
Perhaps because if they officially released it, the press would simply sneer at it as Republican propeganda. If they think they "swiped" it, then they'll treat it seriously.

The news outlets are more likely to blare the news over and over if they think they have an 'exclusive.'

No one really knows where Flight 93 was going. It could have been a target in DC, in Philly, Pittsburgh, TMI--the only ones who do know are dead.

Yeh, Im sure these Taliban just leave "documents" outlining attacks laying around, and videos of confessions here and there. For such "masterminds", they sure seem dumb.

Maybe a 18 wheeler. For a few years in my checkered past, I was part owner of a small overnight trucking company in the San Francisco Bay Area. We had frequent deliveries to military bases and other defense facilities. I found security procedures were nonexistent to laughable. I thought at the time that if I had a bomb to deliver I'd have about a 99% chance of success using a truck. This was some years back and I hope things have improved since but I doubt it. Most of the "security" jobs were affirmative action sinecures held by people who clearly were hostile to wider American interests. They would be easy as pie to bribe, just like airline "security" personnel, many of whom aren't even citizens.
