It's time for someone in the Administration to give us the hard facts.

In a meltdown, when the core hits water, and radioactive steam causes an explosion, what do the citizens do? How far downwind will people be affected? Who will tell us when to leave, and where to go? Will our home insurance cover this type of disaster? A partial meltdown happened in Russia, and it was difficult to contain. Can we contain a total meltdown? How? How long will the area be uninhabitable? Will a meltdown cause and EMP? Will computer chips function?

If there's only a one in a thousand chance of this happening, I want the answers. The sooner the better.

All this planning is precisely why Bush is naming countries that will be next in the event of another attack.

And why he said he would not wait on events. The message is, clean up the roaches in your nest or we're coming in like Orkin.

Just wait: the no nukes crowd will come out in full force and demand we close down all nuclear reactors

No more dangerous than working in a tall building these days. Remember it said if the power plant was defended find the tallest building around as a backup attack.

Don't fall victim to the exploitation of CNN, I am sure they have motive other than warning those of us who live near the nuke plants. Not to discount the capabilities of the determined terrorist, but it would be quite a task to hit a nuke plant with a jet liner. First, getting your hands on one these days is just a little harder then it used to be. Second, these plants are designed to take a direct hit from a jumbo. Thirdly, it is not as easy hitting a 70 foot building or smaller as you bear down on it at a 30 degree angle traveling at 400 mph as it is flying the plane level into a 1,300 foot building.

Yeh, Im sure these Taliban just leave "documents" outlining attacks laying around, and videos of confessions here and there. For such "masterminds", they sure seem dumb.

That, my friend, bears repeating.

You seem to confuse "war-room" activity with terror. Methinks that FR has shifted to an alert footing and is researching possibilities. Of course, you can continue to sit there and wring your hands, but, you are only in the way. If you aren't part of the solution, you ARE the problem.

Don't go away mad, just go away

Who here, much less in Afganistan, would have forseen the way the war turned out? Maybe next time they will order shredders as well as Toyota trucks, and put in place a document destruction plan.

"They can give up on taking a commercial plane. Ain't gonna happen. Perhaps a poorly guarded cargo plane, or a smaller private plane. Maybe a 18 wheeler."

The next plane attack will not come from a hijacking, it will be made by a bonafide pilot, probably from an international airlines. (Like flight 800?)

I think you're right. Someone mentioned earlier the UPS and FED-EX and other delivery planes. Not too much crew on those planes. Someone could disable or kill the crew if they were quick enough. On the other hand, how could a whole team of terrorists even get near one of those planes? By being employees of the company or the airport for awhile and storming aboard a plane before it takes off? By hijacking and empty plane on the ground using hostages? I hope the USPS, UPS and FED-EX have increased security around those planes. I hope our military bases keep our military planes secure, too.

On still another hand, I think the hijackers' biggest advantage was the element of surprise. Planes number one and 2 didn't have much of a chance, but it didn't take long for plane #3 to figure out what was going on and take action.

Another thing: does anyone really know how big a plane would have to be to penetrate the containment building? I fly GA, but I still worry about the Falcons, Gulfstreams, etc. parked at my airport. Security is, well, it varies...
