I signed the petition but wasn't this already settled? I heard that so many people had complained that they decided to keep it all as it actually happened. If it has been settled, why is this being posted in Breaking News?

Specifically, the effort is paying off and together with the firefighters themselves and the many thousands of others who have protested, it has resulted in New York City scrapping plans for an altered flag raising statue. Ultimate plans have not yet been announced, and so there is still a chance that they will propose some other politically driven memorial which alters the history of what happened that day. Therefore according to the 2nd point in the petition, which indicates that only a historically accurate memorial should be erected, the petition is continuing. It will do so until final plans are announced for a historically accurate memorial not based on any political agenda.

The issue of the altered flag raising is all that is settled, the issue of a non-revisionist, non-politically correct memorial is not. We intend to hold their feet to the fire and not walk away while they wait to come up with something equally objectionable.

It is breaking news because of the Plans announced with the post to get the first 100,000 signatures to New York City and because of the surpassing of the 125K mark on the petition. Some may not view that as "News" but I decided to let the moderators make the decision. Many, many Freepers have been involved with this.

occam the war against the left wing maggots who revise this nation's history is never over.

They are working behind the scenes right now to covertly beat this petition and real history.

In New Jersey, NY's neighbor state, the left wing revisionists are trying to require their new revisionist history books for all NJ students.

These maggot infested revisionist history books do not mention our founding fathers, Washington, Jefferson and other because they owned slaves at the time. I understand that the use of Patriot owned guns has been eliminated from these maggot infested revised history books.

This is why we need to keep this alive. I know that conservatives like to close a page and get on with life thanking that a small victory equals winning the war. Our enemies, the left wing maggots who hate America/Americans, work 24/7/365 to destroy our country. One of their biggest tool is the revising of our critical history!

If you are tired, move on to something else. Too many of us know that this cultural war never stops. We will continue the war with this battle.
