If I had a face like hers, I would not want to show it either.

She probably is part of the 99% of the Muslim religion who think Bin Laden is an extremist ROFL
Well, that's the party line these days, I know, but the reality is somewhat different (95% of educated Saudi males between 17-41 support bin Laden).

Guess she could go to Saudi or some other muslim country where women aren't allowed to drive a car.

Re your post #66 -- What it looks like to me is that the real problem here that has people so wound up is that she's muslim.
No, the real problem is the one I described to you in my post #53 -- I noticed you have not commented on my points therein. I am curious what you have to say to the question I raised: Is she also not required to give a photo for a mug shot and for a possport?
I am genuinely interested in why you think she should not give a mug shot if arrested, or a passport photo for an American passport.

You know I was asked to remove my headcovering for a drivers license photo here in Texas a couple of years ago. When I explained to the lady doing the photo that as a Mennonite I was never seen in public without my head covered, she just took the photo. Now I know this is different than my face being covered, BUT why did she want my headcovering (which just covers the crown of my head) off? I think sometimes it is just knee jerk to object to anyone different. Your average sheep will just do what they tell you to do.

Re your post #71 -- Seriously, the cases aren't parallel, and she'd have her picture taken
OK, I apologize as I found your reply above. But how you can say, with a straight face, that the cases "aren't" parallel? Of course they are. Exactly the same. The state, for law enforcement purposes, is again requiring a photo. Sounds EXACTLY the same to me.
I am sorry but I disagree with you on your two main points here:
(1) It is way too big a burden to ask someone to provide a photo to comply with the law (NO, it is NOT a "substantial" burden); and
(2) Now, you are going to play 'pick and choose' when she has to give a photo and when she does not -- are you willing to defend MY right to ALSO 'pick and choose' when I feel like giving a photo?
Because if you are as willing to fight for MY desire for PRIVACY as HER desire for PRIVACY then maybe we could be on the same page -- but, I have a feeling you desire to defend ends with her. I am excluded. I am discriminated against. Right? I am not trying to be funny here. It is infuriating to me that I have NO privacy or choice in these matters -- but SHE and ONLY she should. NOT FAIR.

Uh, did you SEE the photo of HER driver's license in the article? Pulling her license was not "knee-jerk" in my opinion.

I agree. Did not mean in this case it was knee-jerk. I just mean that sometimes the people taking the photos and doing the renewals have the reasoning capacity of a tree.

Yeah, driver's license pictures are soooo hot. Women, forget those Glamour Shots; you get your man going by simply showing him a snapshot courtesy of your state's driver's license bureau!
LOL.......

Two years ago, Tamim-Muhammad, a native of Morocco, removed her headdress for the ID photo, but her husband said she did it only because she spoke no English and was unsure of her legal rights.
If she speaks no English, I must assume she reads none, either. How will she read street signs and such? How will she know what the "Bridge Out Ahead" sign is about?
Oh, wait, I forgot. She doesn't have to. She'll wait until she drives off the non-bridge; then she and her husband will sue.

Uh, don't most muslim nations FORBID women to operate motor vehicles?
