Hi Judy
lol your line was not used in a book or movie
your post reminded me of that book
because you made everything so clear and vivid
and because the feelings you had then came alive
and touched everythng you described
I felt like I was inside your head

hi sweetie
it's interesting you wrote story 'bout giving directions in the country
you know my dad was born in Manhattan
so he knew the city like the back of his hand
when I was a lil girl people on the street would often stop him to ask for directions
he was always so overjoyed
and would even walk part of the way with them to show them the way

Before I met Bill I had a boyfriend
who used to like to take me camping all over in pretty places
when he was going to medical school in St Louis he said ''if you fly down I will take you camping all over the Ozarks''
I was thrilled
when we got lost in the Ozarks and I got out of the car to ask for directions at a gas station
fofl those guys wouldn't give me a break
I would explain everything to them perfectly, they waited till I finished
and then one turned to the other and said ''did you understand one word she said''
the other said ''nope''
when I got back in the car Gene said ''what did you find out''
I said ''nothing, they couldn't understand my NYC accent''
I had no idea they were doin' a trick on me
till I got on-line and found a thread -- called what to do if a New Yorker asks you for directions
it contained 250 posts on tricks to play on the New Yorker
