Who left the dimensional door open?

Telepathic Football Threatens Chilean Teens

VILLA SAN RAFAEL, Chile (Wireless Flash) -- Forget Bigfoot or the Mothman. The newest paranormal creature is a four-legged football.

Believe it or not, a creature matching that exact description has been sighted threatening teenagers in Villa San Rafael, Chile.

Researchers at the Calama UFO Center in Chile claim the mysterious menace has wings, a face like a large bulldog and is "shaped like a rugby football with legs."

Paranormal researcher Dr. Virgilio Sanchez-Ocejo isn't sure if the creature is one of those goat-sucking chupacabras, but admits both animals telepathically communicate with humans.

The winged football is just one of hundreds of strange creatures that have been terrorizing Chile since 1999 and Dr. Sanchez-Ocejo suspects the mysterious beings are entering Chile through a dimensional doorway.

I wouldn't call my battle with the cacti a ballet, it was more like thrash metal in green. (Showing my youth/age!)
Those throny monstrousities have a name?! And they're called cholla? Reminds me of the 'Wait a minute vine'. It reaches out, grabs you and says, "Wait a minute." Have them growing here as well, those vines. They have yellow thorns and oval leaves coming straight from the vine. (No stems.)
Vile things they are. Getting caught in them is a gaurantee of staying in the woods longer than you expected.
I'm not always funny. Sometimes I'm just there.

Hi Darksheare
Nice to see you
After your posts yesterday I looked closly at cactus growing in my front yard
I wanted to see what you landed on
There is one with ears with 3 inch thorns, I think it is called prickly pear cactus
because it grows pears which have thorns on them also
There is one which grows arms which has 3 inch thorns
that is the cholla
My hunch is you jumped into a cholla patch and deserve a medal
It is not fun!
Love, Palo

I had them stuck to my chest and stomach for a few minutes. Stung like anything. Worst part was: My platoon thought it was a great form of entertainment. Worse than that: the guys playing Opfor thought it was great entertainment too.
They were a nice medium green, somewhat oval in cross-section but not complately flat (Reminded me of a green brazil nut, only it would've had to be two brazil nuts together back to back..) Greenish-grey thorns that were two to three inches long. First impression of them is ear shaped. Second impression is "Gee, these hurt."
Here in occupied New York, the worst thorny item is a locust tree. Go out hiking, lose your balance and put your hand on them and you're in trouble. Other than that, there's black cap bushes and wait-a-minute vines. Still have no idea what they are.

Well, enough useless ambling ramblings from me. Cutting this short(Long) thanks, but wrestling with cacti doesn't deserve a medal. The guys that went to Afghanistan deserve one.

lol the ''wait a minute'' vine sounds interesting
does it grow in the woods?
I got trapped in an inner city for so long (downtown Manhattan)
that I had a passion for plants while I lived there
the window of my tenement apt faced a yard between buildings
and I watched all the weed trees grow
Now that I live on the desert
I find myself interested in the animals which live here
I like watching the hawks overhead, the bunnies, jack rabbits, roadrunners, and lizards

Hi Darksheare
you and I posted at same time
didn't know you lived in NY
I spent my summers in Adirondacks as a kid
those are wonderful woods
I think all cactus is khaki color
it is a big deal what happened to you
a guy who grew up on a ranch outside of Tucson
said he hated spending his weekends mending fences, he wanted to live in town
one day the horse he was riding home from Indian school
threw him into a cactus patch like the one you landed in
that did it!
his mom had his dad sell the ranch
and they moved into town

hi habs
pricky pears are edible but have thorns
everything on desert has thorns lol
they can be boiled up to make jelly
prickly pear jelly is an item sold to tourists here
and I bought some when I first moved here
the saguarahos (sp?) are the cactus you see in cowboy movies
they look like silhouette of man standing
they grow a yellow fruit
I read a book 'bout Apaches by an Apache and he said that yellow fruit was their favorite
I've never tasted it tho

habs pinged me to thread 'bout Galaxy
on question whether ETs exist or not
the article is by someone who works for SETI
so far most posters don't believe ETs exist
but handful are openminded 'bout possibility
altho even open-minded ones see things in long time frames
that ETs will arrive here in 10,000 years
I'm the only one who thinks this joint will jump over next 15 years
