I believe you misread my post. The Methodist Churches for the most part have become a welcome home for liberals and liberal causes. Her claim was that she was a Methodist, but she was concerned that a "Christian" symbol might offend some non-Christian. While Jesus told us to preach the gospel to every creature, she would obviously prefer that the gospel only be preached to the choir.

This is true of ALL of them,including the Catholics,who REALLY pushed "Liberation Theology".

Her claim was that she was a Methodist, but she was concerned that a "Christian" symbol might offend some non-Christian.

Most likely she is worried about making some of her Muslim friends mad. I've been told Michigan has a LOT of Muslims,and as far as I know (I CAN be wrong,here!) they are the ONLY religion that finds the cross offensive.
