Alright, I admit it...I'm having an affair with Cinema 8! LOL!!

Seriously though, among the things I discussed with my husband last night was how nothing in all these years has ever come close to matching my imagination when it came to these books. No artwork or anything. I told him that, when I was younger, I used to try to sketch pictures of the characters and how they looked in my mind. I think I still have the sketches up in the attic. Anyway, this movie was the first time anything came close to how I've always imagined it, and could prove it if I could find those sketches.

The movie not only came close to how I imagined, it pretty well nailed it.

Astounding.

I agree that the movie pretty much nailed it, but it was only possible because of the depth of the author. Tolkien was a master of description and even though everyone paints their own vision of characters and places, the depth and precision of the descriptions kept us all close to the same page.

(Although I must add the Lorien was much different than I had pictured and feel it could have been better)
