I don't believe the official line about the crash either. Maybe their are several reasons for the cover up (even if I don't agree).

1. they cannot give the terrorists credit for wreaking havoc, too many successes will embolden them further.

2. they cannot let the public know how ill-equipped our security is to handle terrorists activities.

3. they don't want our security officials to look like morons.

4. they don't want to deal with a traumatized public.

5. and most importantly, the airlines would be decimated.

Just a few thoughts why our government denies terrorist activities.
