So calling Bush 'moderate' is now bashing? How sensitive can you get?

Let me clarify: I liked the style of the comment. I kinda chuckled at it when I saw it. In some ways, yes he is a moderate (Stem Cell research for one) in other ways, he is not. Methinks this should be an entirely different thread from this one, IMO.

Noticing that in many ways, he has not addressed any of the major issues that conservatives were anxiously hoping would be addressed (hence, 'establishment') is out-of-bounds? Demanding pure loyalty in all cases is a bit too subservient for Americans to stomach.

It's been a year. A tumultuous year at that. Good things were happening in the beginning (tax custs, education reform seemed to be moving forward, then not) then Sept. 11th happened.

So where would you like to see President Bush focused? On national security, securing our borders, ensuring that Sept. 11th never happens again, or the other major issues we Conservatives (and I proudly call myself a Conservative) have been fighting for for years? Personally, I want to make sure Sept. 11th never happens again. Secure our borders. Crack down on immigration & immigration scofflaws. Reform/disband/whatever the INS and turn immigration enforcement (deportation, etc..) over to the Military and ensure that only those who are supposed to be here, ARE here.

We have 58,000+ illegal Arabs in this country. I'm guessing they're not all good guys and a bunch of them are sitting and waiting to pull off another terrorist act in our country. I want our President and Administration focused on securing our country, and getting rid of these terrorists-in-waiting. I want to make sure Sept. 11th never happens again.

(Now I've got to go look up more of his past posts, and yours... be back in a few... Oh, and I know Bush has only been in office for a year, and has 3 to go. Still, he should have addressed tort-reform, election-fraud, Clinton's land-grabs for cash, term-limits, etc., by now. Or is that 'bashing', too?)

If Sept. 11th hadn't have happened, you and I would be in 100% agreement. There's also that little "power stealing" that happened in the U.S. Senate when Jeffords jumped ship, or had you forgotten about that?

One last thing: If you want to change the Republican Agenda in DC, change the Republican Leadership in the Senate. Trent Lott is the #1 reason some of your issues didn't come up. He blocked some of them, and cow-towed to DemocRATS on the rest. Look at the record. The President can (and should!) propose all these changes. If he doesn't have the cooperation of the House & Senate, nothing happens.

And since I'm on this little rant ... DUMP THAT PANTYWASTE TRENT LOTT ALREADY!!!!! Get a Senate Minority Leader with a damn' spine!!!

PS - if you learn how to use the search engine, can ya give me a few pointers? LOL! Look for the Stem Cell Research threads I initiated and responed on. You'll get a good feel for where I am on the political spectrum from those posts.

I'll bump to that!

I'm still stuck on why you would 'out' Boucheau, and say, "bye-bye" to him. Here are the main themes from his last 8 replies (which are all that pop up):

The other 3 were a bump of agreement, a typo correction, and his post on this thread. I just don't see where he has shown himself unworthy of FR posting priviledges. He seems pretty darn conservative to me. I don't want FR to only include those who want to earn the GOP version of Clintonian knee-pads. I'd rather have representatives who are willing, able, and happy to have their performance critiqued so that they can do their jobs as well (and as Constitutionally) as possible. Your point, that much has changed (and Bush has been just a bit distracted!) since 9-11 is well-taken... and the 2002 elections are going to be CRITICAL... but that still won't buy the GOP my loyalty. When the get a spine, when they reverse the progressive tax system, when they dump at least ONE of the unConstitutional roles of the Federal gov't (Dept of Education, please!!), etc, etc, etc, THEN they will have my undying support... and occasional questioning glare. ;^)
