When scientists try to minimize the importance of the results of their own studies, there's alot more than science going on.
The same thing happened in a paper put out by researcher from The University of Bristol in England. They did one of the first papers/researchs into the effect of the electro-magnetic field of cell-phones on users.
The only effect they could find (and IIRC, it was very small) was that cell-phone users had faster reaction times than non-cell-phone users.
I got a few good chuckles from the article as the last few paragraphs were nearly a tortured "our research can't be right! Cell-phones MUST cause everything from brain cancer to shyness. If our research is correct, there goes our funding and chances to appear as expert witnesses at billion-dollar class-action suits! D-amn!"
