That, and the fact that those in control say such wonderfully scripture based things as "You're going straight to hell if you aren't baptised today!" And "You're a heretic!" (Stated to myself after I said that I didn't care what man said about God. I wanted to know what He had to say about himself.) I.e. what does the Bible say?

"You're going straight to hell if you aren't baptised today!" -- What oddity. This dogma -- the Roman doctrine of baptismal regeneration -- is one which Calvinists have ever staunchly opposed.

The guy, a Calvinist who seemed to revere Calvin more than God, didn't like being told that what God has to say carries more weight.

It is certain that this fellow was no Calvinist, if he affirmed the dogma which you have attributed to him. He did not "revere" Calvin; he frankly opposed Calvin, and preached a dogma (baptismal regeneration) which Calvin called "fatal and pestilential".

If this was his dogma, he had not even read Calvin -- even as many who object to Calvin, have never read his writings either.

Well.. Calvin's predestination had a real hold on the guy, as well as the fact that the guy kept quoting Calvin. Maybe the fact that he'd been a Catholic first before his belief in Calvin colored some of his views? I will never be sure, but I do kinda feel proud that he called me a heretic. Means I'm in honored company at that. (just look at Fox's book of Martyrs!) Thanks for the input. I'm still scratching my head over that guy...
