And I'd like to know what percentage of them had any education experience to begin with!

Since I've been teaching, I have yet to see a single scrap of paper from the Fed DoE. They have never once helped a single child in either of my schools learn a single thing... for their $35B annually. Of course, if they ever read this, their insipid and convoluted solution would be to try to do MORE (unConstitutionally) for education at the Federal level.

Oh boy; have you met summer?

Look; I'm a BIG proponent of education.
Not a lot more important to me than education & especially when the subject's our pre-college kids.
~and no; I did NOT need Hillary Rotten-to-the-Core-of-the-Floor Clinton to tell me that, either.

But y'know?
I like to think of education in a similar context to the old country saying, "You can lead a horse to water; but, you can't make 'em drink it."

We should to see to it that for those who want an education?
Have proved their desire via their HS OR middle-college grades?
Recieve help attaining that education & in the least?
NOT harm their chances!

But on the flip-side?
We must work equally hard to prevent those who don't have a serious desire from screwing-up the system, too.
Then, when they've discovered their *scheme* has been detected?
That they're now going to recieve precisely what they've earned?
Make damned certain they're howls & accusations of how their, "rights" have somehow been denied are answered in the only logical way there is: a copy of their xcripts.

One day a HS drop-out's gonna be a mighty valuable commodity; if they keep going like they are.
It'd behoove the world of acadamia to deal with that spectre now; & stop being so shortsighted, & greedy.

...it must become an accepted fact a university certification is a potentially dangerous weapon; if in the hands of a fool.

And yer One of the Lucky Ones...LOL!! The Federal Dept. of Education does absolutely NOTHING but meddle in the business of folks who are actually attempting to teach. The day Carter created the DOE was the day the schools became fated to the Mediocrity we enjoy today. And this by no means is saying that all Public Schools are performing poorly, but I can pretty well imagine that the Good Public Schools out there wouldda been Good Public Schools without DOE Involvement.

FReegards...MUD
