He needs a better format, and he needs a fight. Too much good information, not enough debate and conflict, not enough ego strutting. Good information, boring television.

The abortion discussion was incredible. You really won't hear that anywhere else. Who else saw the e-mails they aired at the end of the segment?

I like Alan Keyes. But why is he smiling so much? He looks a little strange!

What a pleasant surprise to see Rev. Joe Watson who I knew briefly when he lived in Virginia! His focus on the miracle of life evidenced by his new grandchild was a sharp contrast to the callousness of the pro-abortion woman. Dr. Dobson on now talking about evil: not the loss of buildings but the loss of human life.

Advertisers tonight have been Ethan Allen, Prudential Financial, Lipitor, Daewoo, Discovery Channel, Slim-Fast, and Datek. I know there are others, but I missed them as I was distracted. Anyone catch any others?

Now I remember why I voted for Alan Keyes.

Here is one member of the 'viewing public' that will have the channel turned on to MSNBC every night at 10PM........for sure!

I can't stand most of the talking heads, but Keyes is positively mesmerizing for me.

Another great show!

Folks, we must continue to support Mr. Keyes and his show. Tonight, TRUTH was shinning forth! Never in a million years would I have thought that a LIBERAL LEFT WING EXTREMIST station would give an outspoken Godly man and conservative a platform! This is our chance, now we must help Mr. Keyes excel in the ratings!

Discussion thread for Alan Keyes Is Making Sense: What constitutes evil in light of 9/11?

Ambassador Keyes had better get his guests in the common man segment to respond to his questions or he's going to have a very short stay. His first question was cited in this thread's title. Nobody came close to answering it. His second question had to do with Hiroshima and Nagasaki: again, no direct responses. I left at this point.

Each guest turned the questions into opportunities to talk about themselves. "My brother and sister were near Ground Zero" was a response to question 1. "I'm the same age as the children in Shindler's List" was a reply to question 2.

No doubt, common people do take every opportunity to discuss themselves; which is why "common people" (myself included) should not be on TV. Boring, off-topic and self centered dialogue will not bring in the viewers.

The chat room was the same as all chat rooms I've run across. Too fast paced and fragmented for my abilities. The segments I caught were mostly off topic. I'm sure this will be a surprise to FReepers: a thread getting off topic.

I like Keyes and hope he gains control and reformats his show into a winner.

I thought the show tonight was much improved over last night. Dr. Keyes was more relaxed, his pace was somewhat slower and he let his guests have their say. He obviously spent some time and put some thought into ways to improve his on camera personage.

As for choice of topics, IMHO, he should examine each and every topic dear to our conservative hearts which has been "suppressed" by the PC crowd. Abortion was a good start.

Bring on the tough subjects, Dr. Keyes! The Twenty-First Century is a "target rich environment" for you to bring conservative issues back into the great American dialogue!

The Liberal/Socialist/Marxist PC crowd think they have won the battle for the soul of America. Not so! I believe that with Dr. Keyes leadership, we conservatives can capture the hearts and minds of the American public and restore our Constitution. The rest will take care of itself.

If you have specific requests for subject matter, I am sure Dr. Keyes and his staff will be delighted to hear them.

Keyes rocks and the show must succeed. Now, having said that let me jump in with some mild criticism. I think that he, and more likely it is the producers who push him in this direction, he tries too hard. Trying too hard for cuteness, for likeability and the artificiality of this effort shows. If the intended audience (and that's not me as I'm never the intended audience,) doesn't notice it, that's great!

The show must succeed and when it does it will send a strong message to the networks. See, Tom and Peter and Dan and their bosses can easily dismiss the succeess of O'Reilly, by saying to each other in their hermetic little circle that O'Reilly is a crude little vulgarian populist, while they, it goes without saying, are the sophisticates, why they attend gallery openings, Park Avenue parties and so on. But Keyes? They won't dismiss him, they'll censor themselves when talking and thinking about him (think of it as positive side effects of political correctness,) and if the show succeeds, the message will be too plain to ignore: conservatism is popular on television. If nothing else, the apolitical advertisers will notice.

Dobson said people are fined $25,000 if they destroy a bald eagle's egg, but nothing happens to them if they destroy a baby before its born ( something to that effect). An unborn bird's life is much more valuable than our unborn children. Sad.
