That little display was set up by the Freepers attending the Media Research Center's Dishonors Awards. I contributed the beads and sign, Angelwood provided the buttons.

It got a lot of laughs.

Thanks to everyone who helped make this my first post with over 100 replies!

I'm not sure what it is about this post that generated so much interest. But I've got a theory, and I'll study the issue more closely to see what I can learn.

Well, I think it's because many of us here at Free Republic believe in the importance of keeping abreast of the issues that face this country today...

"Proof professor, we want proof."

I wasn't there. That is my story, and I am sticking to it.

Thanks for that insight. I guess I don't know enough about N.O. to know that some (all?) of the parades pass through residential areas as well.

Somebody needs to tell her that she's the one who invaded her own privacy by exposing herself IN PUBLIC! Sheesh.

But please don't assume that just because it's happening in the Quarter, it's happening in the rest of the city.

Exactly, geaux! We lived in New Orleans for a couple of years while I was in seminary. We carried our then 2-year-old to some of the "out of the quarter" parades for Mardi Gras and had a blast! Real family fare, for sure! Man, we miss those days!

Even to this day, if my wife hears Satchmo sing "Do You Know What It Means to Miss New Orleans" she kind of gets a little misty! (And to think she actually despised the place when we first moved there!)

I lived in "The Big Easy", (actually Metarie- does anyone know Honore Drive, the paved oval that used to be a racetrack?), in the mid-70's. Great music, great food, unique culture and history, interesting people of all races, and a pretty good climate if you don't mind rain. A wonderful place then, and it is still a place to be savored and enjoyed. I return every few years for a weekend, but never for any big celebration. Tourist geeks and freaks may get the publicity- forget that, and go see the Crescent City.

She was dumb. They owe her no money, but now they know she doesn't want the pictures in public. They should be kind and remove the pictures.

I lived in Columbis, MS for about ten years, but never made it down to New Orleans. I wouldn't mind checking out the food there sometime.

They only taped what was in the public domain.

This is rediculous, next she'll want to sue to regain her viginity.

Good luck on that too! LOL
