I have seen Gosford Park too, and I thought it was superb, probably had more to do with Julian Fellowes, than Altman, which just goes to show you the man is too ignorant to realise to whom he owes what. No wonder Hollywood loved Clinton so much: they salute their own narcissisim. When I hear Altman speak, its a joke.

PS I also saw the miserable "Dr. T and the Women" just because I was at the Dallas Aboretum the day they filmed the wedding scene. Horrible, just horrible.
