the foofy coffees are way overrated. i like folgers in the brick form. it is as good as any foofy handground coffee.

How about Cafe du Monde or Starbuck's French Roast mixed with chicory and brewed strong? I'll make the beignets(pronounced ben-Yay, a lozenge shaped donut sprinkled with powered sugar).

beignets are great, but i prefer Dunkin Donuts coffee with that! i like a smoother tasting coffee.: )

dunkin donuts has the best coffee, bar none. And don't give me any crap because, as you know, i have had Colombian coffee IN colombia and i know whereof i speak....

I used to use Folger's coffee bags. Then Cyber told me it was pretty much the same as Folger's instant. Now I drink Folger's instant.

I drank Starbuck's coffee on a flight once, and I wasn't impressed.

Beignets are great, but I think you have to be in New Orleans to appreciate them. I tried to make them once from the mix you buy in New Orleans. 'Twasn't a good sight nor taste.

Starbucks is fine for a good jolt, which is what i will drink it for. but for taste, i love DD, and at home, Folgers.

There's the problem. You were using a mix. You probably over worked the dough too. I did the first couple of times I made them.
