In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of “word for the day”. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the “word of the day”; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....

Today isn't even Dr. King's REAL birthday, which I think was the 15th.

Repudiate this if you will...

Seven New York City bartenders were asked if they could nail a woman's personality based on what she drinks. Though interviewed separately, they concurred on almost all counts.

The results:

Drink: Beer
Personality: Casual, low-maintenance; down to earth.
Your Approach: Challenge her to a game of pool.

Drink: Blender Drinks
Personality: Flaky, annoying; a pain in the a$$.
Your Approach: Avoid her, unless you want to be her cabin boy.

Drink: Mixed Drinks
Personality: Older, has picky taste; knows what she wants.
Your Approach: You won't have to approach her. She'll send YOU a drink.

Drink: Wine - (does not include white zinfandel, see below)
Personality: Conservative and classy, sophisticated.
Your Approach: Tell her you wish Reagan had had four more years...Alzheimer's and term limits be damned.

Drink: White Zin
Personality: Easy; thinks she is classy and sophisticated, actually has no clue.
Your approach: Make her feel smarter than she is...

Drink: Shots
Personality: Hanging with frat-boy pals or looking to get drunk...and naked.
Your Approach: Easiest hit in the joint. Nothing to do but wait.

Then there is the male addendum ..
The deal with guys is, a always, very simple and clear cut.

Domestic Beer: He's poor and wants to get laid.
Imported Beer: He likes good beer and wants to get laid.
Wine: He's hoping that the wine thing will give him a sophisticated image to help him get laid.
Whiskey: He doesn't give two sh!ts about anything but getting laid.
Tequila: P!ss off, all you wankers, I'm gonna go shag something.

Public employee unions would celebrate Adolf Hitler's birthday, if it meant a day off with pay!

It took 4 months for red cross to help the victims of September 11th, but only 4 days to fly down to Cuba to check the welfare of the terrorists. That says a lot, don't you think?

In my Earth Science class last year, I wrote a paper on a penguin that had affairs.

Was it a chilly relationship or merely for the birds?

MLK would repudiate
The current NAACP state.
He wanted all equal
Not this sick sequel
Of "group rights" are what rate.

I am feeling better, but am one of those that does have today off. I have a lot to do so thought I would take a short break to try to add to the grade book.

See you all later.

Let me just offer this into evidence as a repudiation of the belief that our elected officials couldn't possibly get any worse.
