It makes me wonder. According to the OT, we are all the sons of Adam. And according to Luke 3:38, Adam was the son of God. Makes me wonder about much of what is called "orthodox" Christianity. 160 posted on 1/20/02 10:19 PM Pacific by Doctor DoomAdam Fell.
Realize that the greatest doctrinal essay (the espistle to the Romans) by a man whom I am not ashamed to say was a supremely great logician, began from this point, in his very first chapter:
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. (Romans 1: 18-23)
And so...
Death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come. But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. (Romans 5:14-15)
And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
(1 Corinthians 15:45)
Which returns to this:
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. And I am going to walk out of a grave, to prove it. (John 14:6)
I knew it! I knew you could give me a new direction of study. Danke, mein herr. :)
