His plan is what the Bible reveals that plan to be....and our Bible is God's inspired Word.

So did God's plan end there or does the Book of Revelation say it is ongoing?

You still have not answered my question...Is God not still God?

In a couple months we are going to put new cupboards and floor in our kitchen..I am busy looking and thinking and planning..lots of things to consider and all decisions will be made before the first nail goes in.Would God do less with His creation?

My pastor will say such silliness.. "God Chose you".....He does not mean that (even though the Bible says it) because he believes it is my "job "to choose Him.

He says "God has a plan for your life" . What he really means is there is a few things God would like you to accomplish ..but it is all up to you. He says if you are not obedient that God has an alternative plan......to that I say what kind of plan is that? And what if the alternative plan doesn't pan out? God must do nothing all day but fine tune MY pathetic life..

Read the scripture..show me were the word says you are free to choose me? Quite the opposite it says "I have chosen YOU"

RnMomof7: First what does the Rn stand for. Do you really have 7 kids. I'm from a family of 8. I met a young catholic woman last week who at the age of 34 already has 9 kids, and none of them are twins. (I didn't even think that was possible since her oldest is just 12...but my wife assures me it is providing the woman is probably NOT breastfeeding.)

Quite the opposite it says "I have chosen YOU"

This is a difficult verse because it comes out of John. I haven't checked the exact scripture, but if memory serves correctly, it is out of John 15 and is part of Jesus' final soliloquy/prayer prior to his arrest. He goes on in that prayer (Chap 16?) to say, "I don't pray for these only, but also for those who will believe through their word." The passage you cite goes something like "You have not chosen me but I have chosen you and ordained you that you go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain."

It really seems from the context that Jesus is speaking directly to his apostles and referring to their unique position of having been called to apostleship and, thus, to being ordained to be the original proclaimers of the gospel of Christ. While I am open to various interpretations of this verse, to include the one you propose, it is necessary to bear in mind that this apostles-only interpretation is highly likely given that even within the context itself Jesus then addresses others....those who would believe through the apostles word; i.e., those who were not specifically chosen by Jesus himself.

Sorry if some of the questions on some of your posts have gone unanswered by me. I try to sort through all the questions from all the posters and hope that my responding posts answer most questions posed by others.

I understand you are a former catholic. When did you change? What brought it about?

What do you think 'whosoever' means? (Jn.3:16,Rom.10:13).

It means anyone is free to call on the Lord, if he will.

God foresaw that decision before He created and elects based on that already known decision.
