Not to brag or anything (ok, I'm bragging), but I went shooting this weekend and was able to hit a paint can 3 out of 7 shots at 300 yards with my .45 1911. Couldn't believe it myself.
Sorry, I just can't believe that. 300 feet maybe but NRA Pistol Masters can't do things like that nor are they expected to. In Highpower Rifle the 300 yard target has a 9 ring that's 13 inches in diameter. In order to just SEE the target, the black is 19 inches in diameter. The black's measurement is 1/16 of an inch at the end of a rifle barrel. That means that you would be an expert if you could hit a 13 inch target in the sitting position with a match grade rifle. The only way I was able to hit a tree at 225 yards is because I didn't have to worry about elevation so much because the tree stump was fairly long.
This other person claimed that he shot tar buckets at 440 yards. I noticed that neither of you are shooting in the Free Republic Postal Match. Again, sorry. I hope there's no hard feelings but I can't believe you.
