People with incomes $100,000 to 200,000 pay 24.1% of the taxes, $213 Billion.

People with incomes $75,000 to 100,000 pay 12.8% of the taxes, $113 Billion.

People with incomes 50,000 to 75,000 pay 12.9% of the taxes $114 Billion.

People with incomes of $40,000 to 50,000 pay 4.4% of the taxes, or $39 Billion, and

people with incomes of$30,000 to 40,000 pay only 3.4% of the taxes, or $30 Billion!

Finally, people with incomes of only $20,000 to 30,000 pay only 1.1% of the taxes, or $10 Billion!

According to http://www.taxfoundation.org/prtopincometable.html, the middle class bring in the most dollars. The top 1%(someone who makes over $ 293,415) pays 36% of all taxes, which is $317,419 million. The Top 50%(someone earning in between $26,415 and $52,965) pays 96% of all taxes, which is $842,168 million.

People with incomes $120,846 to $293,415 pay 19% of the taxes, $169 billion

People with incomes $87,682 to $120,846 pay 11% of the taxes, $97 billion.

People with incomes $26,415 to $87,682 pay 30% of the taxes, $259 billion

People with incomes below $26,415 pay 4% of the taxes, $35 billion

Gee, I was wrong. I knew the numbers did not add up before. You guys are correct. The super rich and the entire middle class account for most of our government's revenues.
