January 17, 2002 -- PASADENA - An emotional Monica Lewinsky choked back tears yesterday when asked about her role as national punch line - but said a healthy sense of humor has been her best defense.

Exactly four years after FBI agents first picked her up for questioning about her affair with President Bill Clinton, Lewinsky awkwardly struggled to keep her composure as she publicized an HBO documentary, "Monica in Black and White."

Remember when Dr. Lewinsky met X42 and he exclaimed, "did I just meet my future son-in-law", or that stupid aunt that was Monica's advisor confidant, or that dip sh*t mother who emulated her daughter on many occasions with a lot of other Clinton clones?

Her father said he was upset when he saw "lewinski" in the American Heritage Dictionary as a definition for oral sex. He could have avoided some of that disgrace upon his name by suing Clinton for sexual harassment when he had the chance.

Beyond anything she did or her solicitation, this was a workplace issue. The "affair" happened on federal property during work hours with a subordinate. The age gap (30+ years), the power gap (the most powerful man in the world and a young nobody), and Clinton's history prove that he was a predator. Dr. Lewinski said he met Clinton and wondered if he was "son--in-law material"--he should have been wondering if Clinton was defendant material.

I remember when the house managers deposed Ms. Lewinski and her Smarmy attitude towards answering their questions with Clinton's Cronie lawyers present. Winks, Nods and vicious Cheshire Cat smiles being exchanged all the while.

I think it's sad that emotionally she is still a child when she's nearly 30. Perhaps her life was too sheltered by her parents. But what I think is sadder still is that someone could take advantage of such a person for their own twisted purposes. You could make the argument, and some have, that Monica is a grown woman and knew what she was doing. I submit that she was an immature shy emotionally vulnerable girl who was used and thrown away like a piece of tissue paper by a sexual predator.

It really doesn't matter if Monica initiated the first encounter or not--someone with morals and common sense would have seen her act as a desperate emotional outreach and rebuffed her. Clinton didn't do that; instead he played on her insecurity and need to be loved to get what he wanted. It's no wonder the dems tried to spin it as consensual affair and tried to portray Monica as the predator--if the truth were known, a lot more people would have hated poor, sick old Bill.

It's also sad that people are still manipulating Monica to get what they want. I suspect they sold this special to her as a way to rehabilitate her image, when in reality they only want to make money off her story, and the special will probably focus on the lurid details rather than the tale of a girl who thought whe was all grown up and could handle men, and then found out she could not.

I hope one day Monica realizes how everyone has used her and puts an end to it. If not, it will make her historical footnote all the sadder.
