The dismantling of the base was an stratagem of the Russians to disengage from the possible link of Castro with the 9/11/01 terrorist attacks masterminded by Osama bin Laden, who is a close associate of Castro in the international terrorism.
The Base is such an invaluable asset for the Castro/Islamic/ETA/FARC/IRA terrorist network as well as for the Castro/Colombian drug traffic network, that Castro will allow the dismantling of the base.
