Mighty God, Everlasting Father,

We thank You, our God, that Your mercies are new unto us every morning, and though we do not deserve Your goodness, You do abundantly provide for all our wants of body and soul. We pray that we may always acknowledge Your merciful goodness toward us, giving thanks for all Your benefits, and serving You in willing obedience.

Father, our eyes wait upon You to turn the very heart of America back toward You. We have wandered off the path You have set before us, and we are lost without Your light to show us the way back. Forgive us of the sins of our nation, Merciful Lord, for we have all contributed in one way or another. Just as You mourned over Jerusalem, surely You must mourn over this country that was established through Your faith, Your wisdom, and Your laws. How You must grieve over this nation that will no longer allow Your Ten Commandments to be displayed in government buildings! Father, we mourn these losses with You, and we pray for You to turn the tide of public opinion against justices and legislators who persist in allowing the devil to achieve a temporary victory in these decisions.

Gracious God, You who delight in doing the impossible, please give us teachers who will instruct the children of this nation regarding the true and intended meaning of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Please give us media personnel who will be truth seekers and not editorialists. Please grant us legislators who will truly seek to do what is right for America, rather than fulfilling their lusts for power. We ask You for justices and judges who will weigh laws and rule according to the Constitution, rather than case law or their own biases. Release us from the current philosophy that the Constitution should be a "living, breathing document," for this is the same philosophy that seeks to modify Your Word according to convenience rather than truth. Please supply us with a new corps of clergymen who will return to the truth of Your Word, and who will be willing to stand in the pulpit and denounce evil. O Lord, fill America with a new generation of mothers who delight in their roles, who honor the lives of the unborn, and who seek to raise healthy, disciplined children. Give us fathers who understand the importance of their involvement in their children’s lives, who provide for the spiritual, physical, social, and emotional needs of all those in their households. We pray for entertainers who delight in providing wholesome, quality entertainment, and who will eliminate vulgarities and innuendo so that families can enjoy programs and films together. And please give us a work force willing to give an honest day’s labor for an honest day’s pay. Instill in us enough pride once again that we only accept handouts and welfare as a very last resort. Fill each of us with a sense of responsibility for our own actions and choices. Teach us once again how to handle our conflicts through open communication rather than through lawsuits. Father, how great is our need for healing! How we long for You to perform a good work in us!

Surround our President with Your protection, Great God, and bless and protect the living seed of Your Word sown in his heart. Let Your seed produce in him the plenteous fruits of righteousness, and let his every action be pleasing in Your sight. Make him to know joy and gladness. Help him to truly delight in doing Your will in this role in which You have placed him. Give him all manner of wisdom and understanding and let his greatest desire be to please You. For You, O God, are a shield for him. You are his glory and the lifter of his head.

Be our vision and our wisdom for a new America, Mighty God. Help each of us to be a part of the solution, and let us honor You once again. May we walk in a manner worthy of You, our God, and may we be fruitful in every good work. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
