Your two myths are reflections of the much malinged Libertarian Party. Note that the claim that "Libertarianism is the fastest growing political creed in America" is absent the word "party". There is good reason for that.

The Libertarian Party does not define libertarianism. Moreover, the presidential vote is the least important votes. In some states, Libertarian candidates for House polled higher than Republican candidates! In Nevada, a Libertarian in the second district polled 45%.
