In every fighter squadron I was in, there was a saying that we knew to be true, that said, when there was a true enemy, you negotiate with that enemy with your knee in his chest and your knife at his throat.Thanks for the bump. I just got around to reading this today, after I had listened to a reporter from National Geographic on Fox and Friends this AM make comments to the effect that John Walker talked because CIA agent Span was screaming that he "would kill him." This guy's implication was that the US mistreated poor Johnny, who was only trying to kill fellow Americans.
Now Span is dead and Johnny is fast becoming a liberal cause celebre.
Is this country still too far removed from the reality of war, and an enemy that will stop at nothing to kill us?
