I am not so optimistic that things "are done in that theater," especially considering the main leaders (OBL, Omar, Zawahiri, etc.) are not even located. And how come all the heavy bombing now even in Afghanistan. We hear of al Qaeda regrouping. And the Pashtuns are OBL sympathetic.
Musharraf cut his teeth on fighting India over Kashmir. He would not hand over the 20 or so old friends of his so easily to India. Ther is much left to be done in the theater IMO.
Strictly demolition work. The cave complexes were even bigger than anyone imagined. They are bombing deep and wide to destroy the shafts and internal chambers. And they are learning new techniques for destroying massive underground complexes, which might become very useful knowledge, who knows?
