Clinton had a lot of things on his platter and he didn't have a crystal ball.

He did, however, have 18 dead Marines in Somalia, the first World Trade Center bombing, the bombing of the U.S.S. Cole, two blown-up American Embassies in Nairobi and Nigeria, and the blown-up American Air Force Barracks at Khobar Towers in Saudi Arabia.

He could have used any of those events to seriously address the problem, but there were blowjobs to be gotten, I guess.

We are all also overlooking TWA 800. Some of the people who have made this incident a cause claim that the plane was downed by a missile; and that Clinton was warned ahead of time that something of the type would happen, but did nothing until afterwards. And then it was only to cover up the facts, not to seek the perpetrators and justice.

It's not my claim -- but neither am I prepared to say that it isn't true.
