Thanks, I've bookmarked the Kwanzaa thread but haven't gotten to read it yet. The quote from the Detroit Afrocentric charter school is from the Boston Globe article that follows my post of the Tony Snow article. Its from deeper in the article, so you have to click over to the Globe article to see it in context. The Detroit public school district's site was giving me trouble last night, but I'll see what else I can dig up today. The Globe article also mentions a non-profit that supports the Afrocentric schooling movement. I'll see what they have as well.

A number of schools who teach afrocentric crap base their curriculum off of the "African-American Baseline Essays". Do a search on that term and you'll find some interesting stuff. Here is an article from Time Magazine that can give you some background information about the Baseline Essays and the fallacies they contain.

Also, check out this article about spreading illiteracy among minorities through afrocentric science curriculum.
