Yep. They got themselves in a pickle. I'm just a simple person, but doesn't it follow that energy companies are going to support Republicans, especially after the Clinton/Gore/Browner act? And doesn't it follow that Americans, after electing a President who understands our need for more energy independence, would invest in the energy sector? Enron had every reason to believe it's future prospects were good...if the energy bill had passed as it should have. We'd be exploring, building, refining and getting our own oil and gas to the markets for years to come.

Why isn't anyone investigating Daschle?

You know, the more you research this story, the more Rubin's advising Daschle lately in the Senate, and their actions regarding the energy bill and the tax cut/demonize Bush speech look extremely suspicious. Wouldn't Rubin at Citigroup, Enron's biggest creditor, know the financial situation at Enron, the effect on Enron of killing the energy bill, the effect on our country's economy with the demise of Enron? Would these radical leftists stoop low enough to try to trash our economy and our President while we're still suffering from 9-11 and our enemies watch?
