I haven't been but I understand Charleston is one of the most beautiful cities in the US. I have friends into camping and they rave about Edisto Island, near Charleston.

Vinnie, Edisto and the Ace Basin, outside of Charleston are absolutely beautiful. Moss draped live oaks. A beautiful beach, lush foliage, wonderful people. My family has been going to Edisto for years.
