I agree with your observation. He creates mucho suspicion with those two statements.
I've said it before and I say it again. A large percentage of these third world terrorists are not the sharpest knives in the drawer. Their stupidity as to western custom and routines is what is going to expose a lot of them.

There has been nothing released about conversations between air/ground during this horrific event. Maybe there is more evidence that just has not been publicized. This is incredible.

...(the radio) was found in Room 5101 at the Millennium Hilton Hotel... Higazy arrived in the United States on a student visa and checked into the hotel on Aug. 27. He was scheduled to check out on Sept. 25 from his room in a corner of the hotel with a view of the trade centerSo, this guy had a student visa. Interesting how he had a reservation for a month, bracketing the time of the attack. Coincidentally (of course), this must have been the planned time frame for attack execution.
Higazy said one of his duties in the Egyptian Air Corps included repairing radios
Evidently, this guy was an enlisted man, not an officer. If he had been personally connected or well educated (read: wealthy), he probably would have been an pilot or at least an officer. Instead, he repaired radios.
So, the question remains, how did this "student" get the money to lavish on a month stay at the downtown HILTON - just the perfect location?
Adding up the posted Millenium Hilton Hotel rates for a single room (plus 15% tax), he would have had to pony up around $12,957 just to live in this grand place for a month. That doesn't count any other expenses (in very expensive New York City). So, where did Hagazy come up with large sum of money (or the credit line) to stay in such a nice room? Where are his actual money connections?
We are supposed to believe the story that Hagazy is just another "foreign student"?

...lying to federal investigators, like Henry Cisneros. If its about sex and your a Democrat Party elite, it is "Everybody does it.".
This looks like evil American racial profiling. Now if this Egyptian listens to "talk radio", he may be in big trouble because that is a vast conspiracy. (Thank God that AlGore lost.)
IMHO, the typical "foreign" student fits the same profile as a seasoned soldier or intelligence officer in another counrty's service. Everyone I met seemed very well financed, especially the communist Chinese and middle easterners.

One thing keeps nagging me: the radio in question was found in the safe of the man's room. If he had been using it when the attacks happened, would his room have been undamaged enough to give him time to stash the radio in the safe? Wouldn't it seem more logical for him to just take his passport and radio and evacuate after the attacks?

This guy is just the tip of the iceberg. There have to be hundreds is not thousands of sleeper terrorists just waiting for their marching orders. Here's a happy thought from Middle East expert Daniel Pipes:
Islamists constitute a small but significant minority of Muslims, perhaps 10 to 15 per cent of the
population. Many of them are peaceable in appearance, but they all must be considered
potential killers.
How does 400,000 to 600,000 -- in our country -- potential killers sound?

I'm
sure that he was just a hobbyist like those Democrat opperatives in Florida who just happened to have a scanner monitoring cell phones located in their call, and they just happened to have said scanner in their car connected to a tape recorder, and they just happened to stay in proximity to the roaming cell phone that was in a conference call with newt Gingrich.

Has anything been said about the black boxes? Could they have survived the crash and the building collapse? It doesn't seem likely but???

I don't think they have ever been found. If they are ever found the heat has probably melted any tapes.

I remember that there were reports that some of the hijackers apparently knew that the previous attacks had been successful. I am wondering if they were radioed this information.

I understand your point, but would prefer that W concentrate on the Clinton's next 8 years of obstruction and treason.

I think it is very important that we continue to put this out there on FR. This guy at the hotel with the radio should be treated to our most sophisticated and most excruciating torture to find out everything he knows. Then everyone he rats out gets the same treatment, and on and on until thousands are busted and thousands more are too scared to do anything but head back to the desert and to their goats.

$10K you say? A drop in the bucket, osama is worth almost a billion green bucks.

It would be interesting to know how many Middle Eastern males checked into D.C. hotels with views of the White House or the Capitol for similar periods of a month or so.
Rooms in the Millennium Hilton apparently went for about $500 a night. Would you get a reduced rate for staying a month? $15,000 a month would be a hefty rent, especially for a "student."
Related thread.
To: Gritty
Would Room 5101 be on the 51st floor? If so, a room that high up might go for more than the standard charge.
To: Gritty
The fact that the room had a safe also indicates, I think, that it was not just a standard room.
