Washington, D.C. - The Internal Revenue Service has reported it is missing 2,300 computers, and Sen. Charles Grassley of Iowa wants to know where they went.
Grassley, in a letter Wednesday to the inspector general for tax administration, said he was concerned about the number of missing IRS items, which also includes six firearms, identification badges and electronic surveillance equipment. The losses were detailed in a report last year, and the Republican has been trying to pin down details since then.

2500 computers x $2000 = a whole lot more taxes than me and all my friends put together pay........
I would imagine that no-one will be found responsible for this.....
And what about the guy who was fasting, to get open hearings on the IRS and the legality of the income tax? After the September 11 terrorist attack, there was no more news...whassup?
Just HOW IN HELL DO YOU LOSE 2300 Effing COMPUTERS?????? ROFLMAO ONLY in the IRS can you lose 2300 COMPUTERS!!!!:-)))))
They have no organized records system, much has been lost and destroyed by lazy employees. What records they do have can not be accessed. They cannot fix a simple error like transposed SS digits. It took two years and the intervention of a U.S. Senator to force them to recognise one of my children as a legitimate tax deduction with a valid number
And congress wants it that way! The system is a Rube Goldberg mechanism to frighten and exhaust taxpayers into compliance. Everyone says just pay up, or give up, the money isn't worth the hassle. Tax system reform is #3 on my list of things to fix when I am declared Queen of the Universe.
