James Dean's cig was airbrushed out on the stamp the USPS issued.

Jackson Pollack lost his cigarette too. I drew mine on the stamp when I mailed it. On anther envelope where I used the Pollack stamp, I drew an arrow to it and said, "hey, what happened to his cigarette?"

When Arizona Highways a couple of years back ran a photo of John Wayne with John Ford in Monument Valley, taken in 1956 when they were filming "The Searchers" there, they airbrushed out the cigarette in the Duke's hand, too.
