sounds like you have a personal beef with John, I think the problems you have addressed extend far beyond the Attorney General's Office

"I think the problems you have addressed extend far beyond the Attorney General's Office"

No. It was accomplished during his tenure as Mo. Gov. and was directly controlled/implemented by him. He did such a great job on the Mo. D.O.T. control, he was immediately put on the Fed DOT Committee upon becoming a Senator.

Thanks for the ping & bumps for you David, Anytime.

I can't/won't sign the petition though, as I have no faith in the Justice Dept at all.

. . .in a manner consistent with the CONSTITUTION..

He intends to escalate the "war on drugs", and, if reports are to be believed, link it in with the war of terrorism. The "drug war" has made Constitutional protections a joke. I would be for an oversight committee, but they would probably be as corrupted as he is from the vast amount of extra-sconstitutional power awarded to the executive and legislative branches by prosecuting that "war".

To understand what Ashcroft has done, substitute Reno's name for Ashcroft's. Then this thread would be a petition calling for her resignation.

Post#20..Where can I find this history you speak of about Att.Gen. Ashcroft? Was this brought up at Ashcroft's confirmation hearing? If not,why not?

Ashcroft has closed his eyes to the crimes of the Clinton's who were crooked to the end, selling pardons for money or votes for Hillary, selling military secrets to China for campaign donations and probably Billions in Clinton's Swiss Bank accts. Ashcroft is no better than baby killer Janet Reno.

The last I looked our Constitution would not allow a tribunal without oversight by another court. Or did I miss something?

Support Ashcroft and King George II if you like. The reward will be a demorat president in 2005. No believer in our Bill of Rights can support the resident and his iron fist Ashcroft.

But there are precious few republicans that believe in freedom and the American way in the 21st century.

There are more of us than you think.. and if YOU continue to NOT support the REPUBLICAN party YOU will be responsible for the DEMOCRATS/COMMUNIST being elected..

Let's work together to bring the GOP to the RIGHT where it belongs... We can do this far better from the INSIDE than the OUTSIDE....

FReegards,

David

Do you think MO would have been better off with Janet Reno?

Blah, Blah, Blah....... Its always the fault of someone else that the Republicans lose - never their own fault for never sticking to principles. Except for Ron Paul and maybe a few others, all members of Congress are socialists/totalitarians. Same result whether there is an (R) or a (D) next to their name. So go on, blame everyone else. That will help your cause.....

I read the misnamed USA PATRIOT act. An Ashcroft wish list for unlawful search and siezure.

I read Project SAFE neighborhoods. A law made to order to round up gun owners.

I think you are reading WAY too much into this.. Don't forget that the Attorney General is the CHIEF LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER...

Are you suggesting that we NOT give cops the tools to actually FIGHT CRIME... I think you are placing your personal CIVIL LIBERTIES higher than you need..IMHO

The balance between civil liberties and the authority we "cops" need is ALWAYS a "sore subject" for libertarians.. however if the libertarians and the GOP can't come to an agreement, we ALL stand to lose much more.. IMHO

David

BTW, I am a strong SUPPORTER of the PATRIOT ACT, and a STRONG OPPOSER of GUN CONTROL...

I am NOT blamming anyone, I was simply alluding the FACT that there is a VAST difference in PRINCIPLES between the (R) and the (D).. I also am well aware of the fact that the future "success" of the libertarian party HINGES on convincing people that there IS NO difference..

An approach that will surely hurt BOTH the GOP and LP and the DNC/COMMUNISTS will be laughing all the way to the whitehouse!... Is that what you want !!

I don't think you should put your "faith" in ANY department.. But that is a topic for another thread...

FReegards,

David

I ask for your support of our Attorney General, John Ashcroft, because I KNOW where HE places his "faith", the same place I do, and the same place OUR FOUNDING FATHERS DID !! :)

FReegards,

David
