There is one thing that might be effective in getting there attention and wouldn't prevent you from voting for them if you felt you had to.  That is party registration.  They watch that pretty closely I think.  If they had a sudden mass exodus from the republican registration rolls it might sink into their thick skulls that all is not well.

I'm not suggesting registering democrat, just register uncommitted or third party.  If we could get enough to do that it would shake them up I think.
