Thank you. I learn much here. And mr.smith is always happy to disabuse me of incorrect conclusions. No ones conclusions are always right and I have trumpeted the "unconstitutional war" theme myself here a couple of times. The evidence posted on this thread has caused me to re-evaluate my position in that regard.

www.pbs.org For me, the saddest part of reading Story's Commentaries, or other pre 17th amendment historical commentaries on the Constitution, is all the mentions of the state appointed Senators serving as a check on the Federal government's powers.
