There's nothing objective about the Washington Monthly. It's pretty openly liberal.

Personally, I think this article is being published now specifically to help Daschle's 2004 bid, not hurt it. By running this article now, the Dems are greatly reducing the chances that any news outlet will dig into it 18 months from now when people will actually be paying attention. Why? Because reporters don't like to do any actual investigative work if they won't get a scoop out of it. In early 2004, most reporters are going to look at this information and say, "Hell, this was reported two years ago and nobody cared. Why should I bring it back up now?"
