You are not told exactly what to say, but God does ordain in His Word the different things you are to do in worship. Hail Mary's are not involved and any attempt at saying they are ordained in Scripture AT ALL is extremely dumb and full of the devil.

Really. The first part of the Hail Mary is from Luke:
Hail, Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou amongst women,
And blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

The second part is asking her to pray for us.

What's wrong with repeating scripture, and asking someone to pray for you? I don't see the devil in that at all.

Yawn.

Yep, Mary said it. Duh. Even I knew that. What I was saying is that unless you can show me that it is God's will that we say the Hail Mary, it is not supported by Scripture and you thus are sinning by doing so in worship.

Well, I don't want to get into the middle of a mudslinging war here.

There are some significant differences in biblical interpretation between Catholics and protestants. However, at the very core of our beliefs, we still believe in the same core principles.

While I can't agree with you that the Catholic church is the only true interpretation of scripture, I respect your right to feel that way. As for myself, I do have serious problems in putting a priest, a saint or mary in a position between man and God.

Although we do have many differences, the Christian Church as a whole, Catholic and Protestant need to stand along side each other, and put the scriptural differences aside when we can. After all, we may differ on some things, but at the core, our belief in Jesus as our savior is the most important part.

She is dead, like everyone else awaiting the resurrection. Therefore she can not pray for you or anyone.
