"The practice is legal in Colorado."

I effing well hope it's still legal to record a conversation in your own home in Colorado!

Wonder when Jay Leno and John Goodman are going to start mocking these people on TV for "betraying and recording" personal friends/acquaintances?

Normally I give the police the benefit of the doubt, but the Columbine killings were obviously badly handled. The so-called SWAT-squad stood around outside for hours, too cowardly to go into the school and risk getting hurt, while a brave teacher bled to death. And it's also pretty clear that they shot one of the kids when he ran out.

I don't minimize the kind of guts it takes to go into a building where armed murderers are holed up. But with the lives of kids and others at stake, that's what a SWAT team's job is supposed to be. If they didn't want to do it, they shouldn't be drawing their salaries.
